The Kids in front of the St Paul CathedralAfter the holiday I was off to southwestern Minnesota for J-term and the "Rural Immersion Experience" This was not a bovine baptism but rather a class to experience a new culture. Living at a retreat center, and with a host family, the 11 of us on this trip witnessed a variety of farms small towns, several ethanol plants, and a slaughter house. we learned first hand the excitements (really!) and challenges of rural life and ministry.
It is now in the middle of the spring term. Classes include "Exercises in Biblical Theology" (these are mostly aerobic), a survey of the prophets ("What do you think of Judah's chances this year?"), Modern Church History, and learning about the Holy Spirit (we have not seen Him/Her yet). There has also been the "Intern Placement Process" which I will expound upon in a later post. For now, I bid you aduie and promise to be more faithful in posting. boB
